I’m home this week, but still leaning into the aviation theme—tomorrow I’m finally checking out the old Pan Am seaplane terminal, which now houses Miami City Hall in Coconut Grove. If you’ve never seen it, the building itself is a piece of airline history. Back in the 1930s and ’40s, this was the heart of Pan Am’s flying boat operations, launching Clipper flights to Havana, South America, and beyond.

The Art Deco terminal has been beautifully preserved, and while it’s no longer an official museum, you can still walk through the lobby and see original architectural details and historical markers. If you’re ever in Miami and want a dose of Golden Age glamour, it’s definitely worth the stop—here’s a quick guide and location info in case you want to add it to your layover plans.
