Marriott has officially opened its first City Express by Marriott hotel in the United States, bringing the brand’s no-frills, budget-friendly concept to Duluth, Georgia. City Express, originally a Mexican hotel chain focused on affordable accommodations for business and leisure travelers, became part of Marriott’s portfolio in 2023 after the hotel giant acquired the brand.

City Express by Marriott is a popular brand in Mexico and Latin America.
City Express hotels are known for their streamlined, practical amenities, offering guests free breakfast, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a fitness center, all while maintaining affordable pricing. The brand has gained popularity in Mexico, Latin America, and Spain, catering to travelers who need a reliable and efficient place to stay without unnecessary extras.
The new City Express by Marriott Duluth marks the first step in Marriott’s plan to expand the brand further into the U.S. market. The move aligns with Marriott’s strategy to capture a larger share of cost-conscious travelers looking for trustworthy, budget-friendly lodging under a globally recognized brand.
No Airline Staff Rates (Yet)

The Duluth property is showing no availability for airline staff rates (for now).
Since City Express is now part of the Marriott family, you may be wondering if the brand offers airline staff rates. We checked the full booking calendar for the City Express by Marriott Duluth, and as of now, no airline staff rates are available at this property.
This could change as Marriott continues expanding City Express in the U.S., but for now, airline employees looking for discounted rates will need to explore other Marriott options.
