JetBlue Airways has announced that it will finally add first-class seating across its fleet, with a rollout scheduled to begin in 2026. The move marks a significant shift for the airline, which has long been known for its low-cost approach to air travel on most domestic routes.
While JetBlue has offered its popular Mint premium cabin on select routes for years, this will be the first time the airline introduces dedicated first-class seating across its entire fleet.
The A320s will feature three rows of first-class seating, while the A220s will have two.
The new first-class cabins will be installed on JetBlue’s Airbus A320/A321 and A220 aircraft. The A320s will feature three rows of first-class seating, while the A220s will have two. This expansion of premium offerings is expected to help JetBlue compete more directly with legacy carriers that have long dominated the first-class market.
Other details about the product remain hush, so we look forward to updating this article once we hear more.
What This Means for Nonrevs
For airline employees and nonrev travelers, the addition of first-class seating across JetBlue's fleet could present new opportunities for upgrades.
However, the increased demand for these seats could make it harder to secure a seat in this “Mini Mint” cabin, particularly as more passengers take advantage of JetBlue's premium offerings. We definitely expect it to be a popular upgrade option, especially since JetBlue has promised to price the seats reasonably compared to the competition.
JetBlue prioritizes the standby list by check-in time, so be sure to always check-in early and remain flexible to maximize your chances of snagging a seat in the new first-class cabins once they launch.
Are you looking forward to JetBlue’s new first class?
