Delta Air Lines is celebrating its 100th anniversary in style, unveiling a striking new centennial livery on one of its aircraft. The commemorative design was revealed at a Centennial Gala event in Atlanta, paying tribute to the airline’s rich history and evolution from a small crop-dusting company to a global aviation leader.

A Silver Touch for 100 Years

The special livery is painted on an A321neo.

The special livery features a bold silver supergraphic— a first for Delta— along with a sweeping "100" emblem prominently displayed on the fuselage. The design currently adorns a brand-new Airbus A321neo (registration N589DT), which joined the fleet in February. Later this spring, an Airbus A350-900 (registration N527DN) will also receive the centennial paint scheme.

A Night to Remember in Atlanta

The special livery was unveiled at a gala event in Atlanta.

Delta hosted a star-studded gala at its Flight Museum to commemorate the milestone, attended by over 1,000 guests, including employees, retirees, corporate partners, and former Delta executives. Performances by Jon Batiste and the Vitamin String Quartet added to the celebratory atmosphere as Delta reflected on a century of aviation achievements.

From Crop-Dusting to Global Aviation

Delta’s origins trace back to March 2, 1925, when it was founded as Huff Daland Dusters, a crop-dusting operation. Over the past century, it has grown into one of the world’s most recognizable airline brands, known for its extensive network and customer-focused service. To honor its history, Delta has also launched a dedicated Centennial website, showcasing stories from its past, present, and future.

What This Means for Delta Staff

For Delta employees and passriders, this centennial celebration is more than just a fresh coat of paint— it’s a reminder of the airline’s deep legacy and ongoing commitment to excellence. The A321neo with the special livery will soon be in regular service, so keep an eye out at the gates for a chance to catch a ride on this historic aircraft.
