My Nonrev Travel Predictions for the Next Decade āļøš®

I expect many changes to staff travel over the coming years.
I just released my annual nonrev travel predictions for the next decade, and letās just sayāthings are getting interesting.
From better standby tech (finally!) to shifting airline priorities that might change who gets the best nonrev perks, I dug into what the next 10 years could mean for those of us who rely on flight benefits to see the world. šļø
One major shift? Airlines are getting more strategic about nonrev access to premium cabins. We already see airlines reserving business class seats to sell them at a discount or allow for elites to upgrade using an increasing supply of instruments available to them. At the same time, premium economy is expanding fast and could become the go-to sweet spot for standby travelers looking for a comfortable ride without the uncertainty of business class availability.
And, of course, letās not forget the potential impact of AI and automation on airline staffing and seat availability. Will better forecasting tools make it easier or harder to snag those open seats? š¤ Time will tell.
I cover all of this (and more) in the postācheck it out here and let me know what you think!
What changes do you see coming to nonrev travel in the next 10 years?

š Avoid Uber's Sneaky Currency Trick
If youāve ever taken an Uber abroad, you might now end up paying more than you should. Beginning February 27, a sneaky default setting charges you in your home currency instead of the local one, often at an inflated exchange rate. That means a ride in Paris or Bangkok could cost you extraāwithout you even realizing it.
The fix? Update your settings to always charge rides in local currency. Itās a simple tap that could save you a few bucks (or more) every trip.
We broke down exactly how this works and how to make sure youāre getting the best rate. Check out the full article so you donāt overpay on your next ride! š
